Mother
From Los Angeles to the World
MOTHER Denim was founded in 2010 by Lela Becker and Tim Kaeding. Both had extensive experience in the denim industry and wanted to rethink jeans. What started as an independent label from Los Angeles developed into a brand that now includes sportswear, outerwear, and accessories in addition to denim. Its Californian origins remain an important part of its identity: MOTHER combines the relaxed spirit of Los Angeles with a quirky, self-assured attitude.
Jeans with a personality of their own
At the heart of MOTHER Jeans are cuts, washes, and materials that are exceptionally comfortable to wear. The range extends from straight and skinny to flare, bootcut, and wide leg to relaxed fits and various waist heights. It is precisely this wide selection of silhouettes that makes the brand so versatile. The denim collection is complemented by T-shirts, sweaters, trousers, jackets, dresses, and other styles that extend the characteristic MOTHER look beyond just jeans.
Denim made in Los Angeles
A special part of MOTHER's philosophy is its conscious proximity to its own production. 94 percent of the denim and more than 90 percent of the total manufacturing takes place in Los Angeles, using high-quality materials from selected mills in Japan, Italy, and Turkey. The fabrics are cut, sewn, washed, and finished in Los Angeles. In doing so, MOTHER not only adheres to local manufacturing but also preserves the knowledge and artisanal infrastructure that have made Los Angeles an important center of denim culture.
